Aikido

Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido, realized after a long quest dedicated to the practice of martial arts and religion "Omoto-Kyo", that the ultimate goal of martial arts was not to eliminate others, but to guide humanity on the path of universal peace.
Thus, guided by this awareness, he combined his knowledge of Judo, Daito-ryu Aiki-jujutsu and the art of fighting with the sword to create a new form of martial art: Aikido. Based on the power of relaxation and spiral movements, the aikido techniques, while ensuring an effective defense, transform the energy of an attack (destruction) into an energy that respects the physical integrity (creation) of all participants.

In this new approach to the art of combat (Budo), it is no longer a question of damaging each other but rather managing crisis and opposition to find harmony and security within the circumstances of aggression and challenge. If hurting someone else means hurting oneself, Aikido thus opens up the choice to the different possibilities that the path of non-violence, omnipresent in all its techniques, allows.
